Literacy Centers

literacy center features hands-on activities that reinforce concepts and themes taught in the classroom. Students can practice what they learn in class in an engaging, interactive environment. A literacy center provides students with opportunities to work with others and independently, and problem solve. Below are pictures of the students participating in different center activities. Some of the activities include: sight word bingo, grammar tic tac toe interactive whiteboard game, sight word match game, and magnetic word building.  








Sorting Rocks

In science, we have been geologists. Geologists are scientists who study the Earth's surface.  As geologists, we have been learning about rocks. We learned about three different types of rocks: tuff, scoria, and basalt.  After learning about different types of rocks, we talked about how rocks can be sorted by different sizes, shapes, and colors.  Below, are pictures from our sorting activity.
